Ethically Harvested Palo Santo | Origin: Ecuador
Ethically Harvested Palo Santo | Origin: Ecuador
Palo Santo (Bursera graveolens) is the sacred wood of the Andes and Pacific coast of South America — used by the Inca and pre-Inca peoples for purification, ceremony, and healing for at least four centuries. Its name translates directly from Spanish: "holy wood." When burned, it releases a warm, sweet, citrus-and-pine smoke with subtle notes of mint and anise — one of the most distinctive and beloved sacred scents in the world.
Our palo santo is sourced from naturally fallen trees in Ecuador and Peru. The wood only reaches its aromatic peak after years of aging on the forest floor — sustainably harvested from dead wood means no living trees are cut. Each stick is hand-cut to traditional dimensions for clean, controlled burning.
How to Use Palo Santo
- Hold the stick at a 45° angle and light the end with a candle or lighter
- Allow it to burn for 30–60 seconds, then blow out the flame
- Walk the smoking stick through the space you want to clear, paying attention to corners, doorways, and thresholds
- Set it in a fireproof dish when not held — it will extinguish on its own
- Relight as needed; one stick can be used many times

- Grounding: The scent has documented anxiolytic and grounding properties — useful in meditation and breathwork
