The Hapé
Strength Guide

Find the medicine that's right for where you are — not just where you want to be.

Explore the Three Tiers

What Strength Really Means

In hapé, strength isn't simply about intensity — it's about the relationship between mapacho, the sacred tree ash, and the intention of the tribe that prepared it. A stronger medicine carries a higher mapacho concentration with dense ceremonial ash (paricá, cumaru, samaúma), which accelerates onset, deepens the energetic clearing, and — for those who are ready — invites purging as part of the healing. A gentler medicine uses lighter mapacho and floral botanicals, offering the same sacred connection through a softer entry point. Neither is superior. Each has its place.

How to Work With Hapé

Set Your Intention

Hapé is a sacred medicine, not a recreational substance. Before every use, pause. Ground yourself. Set a clear intention for what you are asking the medicine to help with. The medicine responds to it.

Start With Less

Even if you know your strength level, always begin with a smaller amount when trying a new blend. Each tribe, each harvest, each ash combination carries its own character. Let it introduce itself before you push forward.

Respect the Purge

Purging — through the nose, the throat, or tears — is not a side effect. It is the medicine working. The body releasing what no longer serves. Trust it. Surrender to it. Sit in stillness afterward and breathe.

Create a Sacred Space

Use hapé in a quiet, intentional environment. Light incense, burn palo santo, or simply sit in nature. Remove distractions. The container you create directly shapes what the medicine can offer you.

Integration Matters

The work doesn't end when the effect does. Sit with what arose. Journal. Rest. Don't rush back into screens or noise. Even 15 minutes of quiet stillness after your session is where the real healing settles in.

Build the Relationship

Hapé is not a one-time experience — it is a path. Your relationship with it deepens over months and years. Start gently. Progress with honesty about where you are, not where you think you should be. The medicine will meet you there.
