Shipibo Handmade Journal #16
Shipibo Handmade Journal #16
Each of our handmade journals carries a prayer — a vessel for thought, memory, and creation. Crafted in collaboration with Kalipso Studio in Tulum, Mexico, these journals are made entirely from upcycled materials, giving new life to recycled paper and cardboard while preserving the earth’s natural balance.
The covers are wrapped in authentic Indigenous textiles that carry the stories and songs of their people:
Shipibo Textiles (Peru) — Each piece is a woven icaro, a visual song of healing from the Shipibo-Conibo tradition. These sacred patterns hold deep spiritual codes used in ceremony, invoking balance, protection, and insight for your personal journey.
Mayan Textiles (Mexico & Guatemala) — Handmade by the descendants of the ancient Mayan civilization, these fabrics hold the rhythm of the jungle and the pulse of the land. Their symbols and colors speak a mystical language of wisdom, fertility, and renewal.
Every journal is one-of-a-kind, a true artifact of intention and collaboration. Your purchase also helps sustain cultural knowledge — a portion of proceeds supports Kalipso’s initiative to teach Mayan communities in Yucatán traditional bookbinding, empowering artisans to create new paths of prosperity for their families.
Use your journal as an altar — for dreams, prayers, poems, or notes from your medicine journeys. Whether you’re documenting visions, writing intentions, or mapping the language of your soul, this is your space to remember, to imagine, and to create.
